This isn't normal for me either, actually. I figured it must've been a dream because it doesn't make any sense, but after that PowerPoint, I'm not sure what to think.

[ NO WORRIES, HE'S JUST AS CONFUSED, if not more so, like his capacity for weird doesn't extend any further than being the mediator and token support figure for his family and friends, all of whom are fairly normal in and of themselves. He visibly blanches and makes a halfhearted attempt to gather his wits. ]

Maybe we're all in the same dream? It's kind of farfetched, but I don't remember my home being destroyed either, so ... [ It sounds unconvincing even as he speaks, but hypothesizing that they're all having a mass hallucination reads better than the given alternative, hands down. ]

Yeah, you're probably right. It's just a little hard to take in the story all at once. It seems kind of like a movie, actually ...

[ If he had to peg a genre, it'd be dystopian sci-fi horror, but Makoto isn't ready to address the implications just yet. Instead, he readily trails in her wake, on the lookout for demented wraiths from another dimension ready to snatch their souls straight out of their bodies. He doesn't want a jarring repeat of the ferris wheel incident, after all. ]

I don't know, I was expecting something more serious, given what's supposedly to happened to everyone we know, but all of this is so ... lighthearted? Maybe they're trying to cheer people up? It was nowhere close to winter for me back home, but they're already celebrating Christmas here.

That's an interesting way of putting it. [ he exhales, a slow and punctuated movement, the further they descend down the halls. ] I haven't played a lot, but games usually cater to be unrealistic, don't they? So people can experience things out of the ordinary.

This seems like an applicable situation for that, but why? There's no reason to asking us to help, and then rounding us up here. Is it supposed to be a reward of some sort? For not resisting?
